Rogue River Blue

is a raw milk blue cheese from Oregon, and is considered to be America’s answer to the most prestigious French Blues. It is wrapped in grape leaves that have been macerated in pear brandy.

Milk: Raw Cow        Rennet Type: Vegetarian           Age: Cave-aged 9-12 months
Look:  Wrapped in grape leaves, antique linen-hued paste, green veins
Feel: Thick, buttery
Smell: Fresh and grassy
Taste: Nutty and tangy with fruit, spice, blackberry, vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate and bacon flavors
Pairs well with: Choose bold, aged wines: Viognier, classic French or German Gewürztraminers, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, dessert wines; pear brandy; whiskey or bourbon; hazelnut porter or chocolate stout.
Tastes good with:  Dried apricots or pears, Felino and other salamis, honey
