Why You’ll Love This
Ravida is the olive oil we reach for when we want one bottle that can move effortlessly from the stove to the table. It begins with the fragrance of freshly crushed olives and delicate lemon blossom, then opens into a green, harmonious flavor with just enough pepper at the finish to remind you that this is fresh, beautifully made extra virgin olive oil. It has personality without overpowering the food, which makes it remarkably useful in everyday cooking.
What Makes It Special
The Ravida family produces this award-winning oil on its estate near Menfi in southwestern Sicily, where olive trees have been cultivated for generations. It is a natural field blend of three native Sicilian varieties: Biancolilla, prized for delicacy and floral lift; Cerasuola, which contributes body and green intensity; and Nocellara, known for its fruity character. The olives are pressed at Ravida’s own mill using modern extraction methods designed to protect freshness, naturally low acidity, and the polyphenols responsible for the oil’s pleasantly peppery finish.
Perfect Pairings
Pair it with tomatoes, mozzarella, burrata, grilled or steamed fish, salmon, shrimp, white beans, lentils, vegetable soups, roasted peppers, eggplant, asparagus, artichokes, eggs, pasta, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Pecorino, crusty bread, or Ravida sea salt.
Serving Ideas
Drizzle it over a tomato and mozzarella salad, finish grilled fish or roasted vegetables, spoon it onto warm beans, or add a generous swirl to vegetable soup just before serving. Use it to dress leafy greens, emulsify a lemon vinaigrette, fry an egg, or toss with hot pasta, garlic, herbs, and grated cheese. For the simplest tasting, pour a little into a shallow dish, add a pinch of sea salt, and serve with excellent bread.
